Everett Torrey
Not much is known about Everett Torrey himself but the house itself is steeped in History.

Built in 1872 on Greenfield Lane around the corner from its current location. The house was cut in half and both halves
moved to Kent St.  It is not known if 1872 is the date the house was built on Greenfield Lane or the date the house was
moved to its current location.  Looking across Blanchard Road the Large White house with the turret is the other half of
the original house.

At one point the houses were home to a Maternity Ward here in town. There are many large families who were raised in
this house and stop by with their fond memories of growing up at 119 Kent St. It seems that most who grew up in
Scituate have been through the house at one time or another as a result at having known someone who had lived here.

In the late 90's it previous owner renovated some of the house and began the
Well Feathered Nest B and B. Our family bought the house as a private residence but have now with the closing of the
hotel and of one of the B and B's in town decided to try our hand at Inn Keeping.

I am happy to note that our first season exceeded our expectations.  We have made some adjustments and will be
making improvements to further enhance the stay of our guests for the 2009 Season.
I am now also happy to report we had a great summer 2009 Please see the comments page
The Sheep
A Message from the Inn Keeper

If you have Dog, Wool or Down Allergies this is not the Inn for you. We keep sheep and Border Collies in training for sheep herding and agility trials.
The dogs are kept very quiet. But their allergens would still be in the air. There are wool blankets that are woven from the sheep's fleece. All the
rooms are outfitted with down feather beds and comforters and pillows. We will publicly sheer the sheep for anyone interested in watching next
spring. The date will be posted online. And hopefully with good training demonstrate sheep dog herding on occasion.

We hope you enjoy your stay here in Scituate and at the Inn.

Sincerely,

Your Inn Keepers
